  • Matilija poppy (Romneya) – blooms in May-June
  • Penstemon bloom in May-June
  • Sages (Salvia) – bloom March into late summer & autumn
  • Hummingbird sage (Salvia spathacea) - blooms to July, attracts hummers & butterflies
  • California lilacs (Ceanothus spp.) – different species bloom into June, attract hummingbirds & butterflies
  • Wildflowers: California poppies (Eschscholzia californica), Clarkia

Gardening tips:

Trim flowering perennials and remove dead flower heads.

Collect seed for fall planting.
