Volunteer Council

The Volunteer Council is a forum of communication with representatives from different volunteer groups serving for two years to help maintain a positive and productive volunteer community. The council meets quarterly to discuss volunteer concerns and issues. Volunteer Council meetings are attended by Garden staff including the Executive Director and Manager of Volunteer Programs, a member of the Board of Trustees is also present for every meeting. All volunteers are welcome and encouraged to attend the Volunteer Council Meetings. Meetings are announced in the volunteer newsletter and weekly updates. Every year the Volunteer Council welcomes three new representatives and elects a President and Secretary. The council alone decides which volunteers, from those nominated, recieve special recignition awards presented at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. Categories include: Volunteer of the Year, Seedling Award, Da Vinci Award, Teen Volunteer of the Year, and Blaksley Bliss Lifetime Achievement Award.
