Seeds of Success Scouting Trip

Help our Scientists in the Field

With Rare Plant Biologist, Heather Schneider, participants will identify target populations for future seed collections, collect environmental data, take photos, and collect herbarium specimens as part of Seeds of Success .

It's a fantastic wildflower year at Carrizo. Help our Conservation and Research staff gather seeds for our future!

Be sure to bring:

  • plenty of water
  • bag lunch
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • sturdy shoes
  • pen/pencil
  • clipboard
  • camera

The Garden will supply:

  • training
  • data sheets
  • plant press
  • fun!

Please note: Carrizo Plain is a 3-hour drive out of Santa Barbara. The group will meet at the Goodwin Education Center, which is passable in a passenger car. Available facilities are primitive (no flush toilets and no where to fill up water bottles).
