Summer Sips: Illustrating the Catalina Flora

Date: Saturday, May 28, 2016

Time: 4:00PM - 6:00PM

Instructor: Dr. Linda Ann Vorobik

Location: Blakesley Library

Space is still available!  Please register at the door.

Illustrating the Channel Island floras has been one of Linda's most cherished experiences, especially since it means working with Steve Junak, and now Matt Guilliams, of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. What started as "cartoon" drawings of species morphed into the illustrated volumes A Flora of Santa Cruz Island and A Flora of San Nicolas Island. In this talk Linda describes the process of botanical illustration and shares some of her experiences on the Channel Islands.
