Lenore Tolegian HughesLenore Tolegian Hughes is a prolific artist working in a wide spectrum of mediums, including watercolor collages, and paper weavings. Her watercolor tapestries begin as painted scapes which she cuts into ribbons and then reassembles into composite creations.

Her one-of-a-kind pop-up installations for Nordstrom, Santa Barbara, have, for the last three years, brought her interactive art close to people where they work, play, and live, surprising them with new awareness of the meaning of our lives in relation to our surroundings.

Hughes’ work has graced the greater Santa Barbara community in a variety of venues: the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, the Museum of Art, where she participated in the Art of the Arrangement Exhibitions, and at the Elverhoj Museum in Solvang, the Berkus Collection show Beyond the Windmills. She has taught at Westmont College and Santa Barbara City College. Her art has also been shown in galleries in San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York. She is presently at work on an illustrated book of stories and recipes informed by her novel, “Cups of Fortune.”

Details of Hughes’ career as an artist, images, press clippings are found on her web site
