Painting the Natives

Learn how to capture the structure and beauty of native wildflowers in vibrant watercolor in this introductory course on watercolor basics. Discover how to mix colors that mirror our native flora and create shadows that make your botanicals jump off the page!

All levels are welcome. Materials are provided for the first day of class. It is recommended that participants bring the following for the rest of the course:

    • Watercolor set*
    • Watercolor brush*
    • 140 lb watercolor paper
    • HB pencil & kneaded eraser

Deborah Dal ZuffoDeborah Dal Zuffo has taught both children and adults through classes and workshops, and has volunteered at a skilled nursing facility, sharing her love of art with the senior residents. She is a long-time participant in Three River’s 1st Saturday celebrations, Gallery Tours, and a part-time resident of Three Rivers. Deborah is currently a member of the Art Alliance of Three Rivers. Deborah’s art highlights include: her exhibit at the Architectural Foundation Gallery earned the title of “Best Bet in Galleries” in the Santa Barbara News Press. She was invited to Bristol, Virginia for a one-person show, and received Best of Show for the “Making Hay While the Sun Shines” art exhibit at the Palms Gallery in Carpinteria. Selections of her artwork and poetry were published in the book “Sierra Wonders”, honoring the beauty of the Southern Sierra Nevada. She currently owns Little Pine Studio.
