Do your friends and family rely on you to identify the plants around you? Do you ever tell them a plant name without absolute certainty because you know no one will be the wiser? Uncertainty begone! Botanist Mary Carroll will guide you on the path of botanical accuracy in Advanced Plant Identification. She'll introduce you to the powerhouse of native botanical knowledge that is The Jepson Manual, the official Flora of vascular plants of California. You'll learn botanical terminology, hone your observational skills, learn how to use a dichotomous key, and discover the awe-inspiring details of plants under magnification. This is a fun, hands-on course that will make you the unofficial botanist on all outdoor explorations.
