Gold Coast Library Network
The Garden is a member of the Gold Coast Library Network, a non-profit organization funded by the State of California to serve all libraries - academic, public, school and special - in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. The Network's mission is to provide services that will facilitate resource sharing and connectivity among its members. The Gold Coast Library Network has 45 members and 94 participating libraries.

SBBG Library Catalog on Central Coast Museum Consortium
The Library of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden has joined with the Santa Barbara Historical Society and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History to form the Central Coast Museum Consortium, a cooperative cataloging venture. All cataloged books and periodicals from the three libraries are searchable 24 hours per day through our online catalog.
Please note that all three library collections are non-circulating and are available for on-site research purposes only. Books are not available for order or to be placed on hold electronically.
Center for Plant Conservation

Plant Information Online
Indexes thousands of plant and seed catalogs, and horticultural books and journals. It is useful for locating plants for sale, as well as for finding images, cultural information, and physical descriptions of ornamental plants. This database is available to library users onsite at the Santa Barbara Botanic Library.
SBBG Plant Databases
Data from over 40,000 of the vascular plant specimens found in the Garden's herbarium are accessible through a cooperative effort with the Jepson Herbarium at UC Berkeley. Follow instructions for searching the database. Specimens with "SBBG" preceding the "accession id" are housed at the Garden.
Southwestern Natural History Database
Information on the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's lichen collections, including records for over 23,000 specimens, is available through the Southwestern Natural History Database website managed by Arizona State University. When using the Southwestern Natural History Database page, check "SBBG Lichen Collection" to examine the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's holdings for particular species.
