With so many recent wildfires in our area, the spring of 2010 promises great rewards for those interested in tracking the fire-following flora. We have set two dates for forays to examine the burn areas for earlier and later post-fire blooms. Join us for these trips as we search hillsides and canyons for a progression of interesting and colorful plants.

Instructor Information

Steve Junak, the Garden's Herbarium Curator, is an active researcher and expert on the flora of the islands of California and Baja California. He holds an M.A. in botany, has led field trips for more than 25 years, and has co-authored several books on the Channel Islands. Look for Steve's trips to the Channel Islands for unique botanical experiences.
