Current Research at SBBG

Current research by Garden staff includes native habitat buffer and pollinator biodiversity studies. SBBG Research Associates are conducting research that includes floristic surveys of the Channel Islands, reproductive syndromes of endangered species, utilization of California native trees in urban forestry, and mechanisms of control of an invasive grass.

Garden research and conservation efforts focus on California’s central coast region, from Monterey south to Ventura counties, including the California Channel Islands.
