Image of Epiptergium with penny for scale taken by Amanda HeinrichThe CNPS Bryophyte Chapter and Channel Islands Chapter will co-host a morning moss walk and afternoon microscopy session on Saturday, February 25.

Join us for a morning walk among the mosses, liverworts and hornworts of Rattlesnake Canyon. Meet in the parking lot of Skofield Park at 8:45am. We'll slowly make our way up to the main creek crossing, learning about the mosses and liverworts we meet along the way. At 1:00pm we'll reconvene in the Arroyo Room at the Garden to take a closer look at our finds under the microscope. Join us for one or both sessions.

Bring a hand lens and lunch. Photo guides will be provided.

Free and open to the public.

For more information please email Amanda Heinrich or call (805) 680-1645.

In case of heavy rains, the walk and lab session will be rescheduled.
