The Garden’s head horticulturist and certified arborist, Bruce Reed leads a discussion of the do’s and don’ts of gardening alongside the Central Coast's premier shade tree. Bruce shares his long experience for successful planting under the oak canopy, with many illustrations and handouts. Of course, a tour of the Garden’s magnificent oaks is included in the afternoon.
Instructor
Bruce Reed was raised on an organic farm in the Lompoc valley, and received his B.A. at Westmont College. He has traveled widely since, gaining his experience in the retail nursery industry as a manager and grower. Bruce has managed the Garden Growers Nursery for more than a decade and now supervises planting and growing throughout the Garden.
