This event provides a vast array of gift choices and decorative items. From hand-thrown ceramics to one-of-a-kind jewelry to custom-sewn textiles to custom crafted leather goods – the Holiday Marketplace, sponsored by Perry Ford of Santa Barbara, is one-stop shopping for even the most difficult-to-buy-for person on your holiday list. From fine art to folk art, there will be delightful stocking stuffers, herbal products, locally-produced olive oil and honey, scented soaps and candles and much more. This event would not be complete without the offerings of the ever-popular Garden Guild crafters and their uniquely whimsical pieces lovingly created using all-natural materials including their just-launched line of native bay leaf wreaths.
“We really look forward to hosting this lovely event each year,” said Gail Milliken, Garden Shop Manager and coordinator of the Holiday Marketplace. “It truly does bring the community together to support these local artists and their inspired creations. By holding the Marketplace in the gorgeous Courtyard setting of the Garden it is our intention to provide a relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience for our guests ~ free from the hustle and bustle that the holiday season tends to bring.”
Discover a tranquil and pleasant way to take care of all those on your list, all the while creating new holiday memories, and help celebrate the 20th annual Holiday Marketplace at the Garden.
In addition to the vendor booths, more delightful discoveries await guests in the Garden Growers Nursery and Garden Shop. The Nursery will have unusual plant surprises including a limited quantity of lovely native “dish gardens”, living plant arrangements in ceramic pots perfect for an outdoor tabletop or to decorate an entryway. The Garden Shop will feature fun new items and special offers, as well as a fully-stocked Garden Pantry. Perry Ford of Santa Barbara will have three environmentally-efficient vehicles on display including the C-Max Energi, Focus Electric, and Fusion Energi. And Santa will be on-hand to pose for photos with the beautiful Garden as a back-drop – perfect for family holiday cards! Raffle tickets are on sale for $5.00 each or 3 for $10 and prizes include: restaurant gift cards, gift baskets, books, and jewelry. Warm beverages and free cookies provided by Silvergreens and Marmalade Café will add to the festive ambiance, while shoppers stroll through the Courtyard. To complete this extraordinary experience, music will be provided by Glendessary Jam (bluegrass and jazz, Saturday, 10:00am-12:30pm), Chucumite (Jarocho traditional Veracruz music, Saturday, 1-3:30pm), James Andrew Clark aka “Ukulele Jim” (ukulele/singer, Sunday, 10:00am-12:30pm), and Cheers! Quartet (a cappella, Sunday, 1-3:30pm).
