Free Admission to Santa Barbara Botanic Garden

On Saturday, September 24th The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden will open its doors, free of charge, to visitors with a Museum Day Live pass.  This annual event allows visitors to choose from over 1400 museums and cultural institutions in a national celebration of culture and learning.  Visitors must download a free pass at the Museum Day Live website, The pass is good for free admission for two at participating venues for one day only.

Botanic Garden Chooses Native Choice Awardee

The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is pleased to present this year’s Native Choice Award for leadership in the use of California native plants to Martin and Elizabeth Stevenson for their residence at 845 Norma Way. Incorporating more than 40 different types of California native plants, the Stevenson property takes full advantage of our state’s rich botanic diversity to create a distinctly Californian sense of place.  The award will be presented at the Santa Barbara Beautiful Annual Awards Presentation on September 25, 2016.

Fall for Natives at the Botanic Garden Sale

Santa Barbara, CA – September 2016

The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden’s annual Fall Native Plant Sale opens to the public at noon on October 1st and runs all month, daily from 10am to 5pm. Classes throughout the month provide expert advice to create and care for a beautiful water-sipping garden. This is the largest selection of native plants on the Central Coast with over 6,000 plants and 400 different varieties. Garden admission is not required to visit the sale.

 WHAT:          Ribbon cutting celebration including tours of the new Pritzlaff Conservation Center

 WHEN:          Wednesday, July 13, 2016, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. 

 WHERE:       Pritzlaff Conservation Center at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, 1212 Mission Canyon Road. Park in the Garden’s main parking and follow signs to walk across the street. Shuttle rides available.
