Yarn Blasters Hit the Botanic Garden

The Yarn Blasting Babes, with the Santa Barbara Fiber Arts Guild, have worked their magic at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden with creative fiber art pieces offering surprising splashes of color in the Garden.  A four foot wide orange knitted poppy, the shades of blue rain funnel and giant spider webs are just a few of the fun surprises included in the nine works created by Karen Luckett’s team of renegade fiber artists and local school children.

Fall Native Plant Sale Kicks Off Planting Season

September 2, 2015

The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden ushers in the fall planting season at noon on October 3rd with its annual Fall Native Plant Sale featuring a whole month of inspiration, information, and thousands of native plants for sale to the public. Speakers, such as author Robert Kourik, landscape designers Billy Goodnick and Kim True, and Garden Horticulturist Bruce Reed will inform and inspire, along with many other activities.  No need to pay Garden admission to shop, just stop in from 10am to 5pm daily through November 1.

Let Your Dog Treat You at the Botanic Garden

Santa Barbara, CA – July, 2015 – You love to treat your dog, but now your dog can treat you to free admission to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden for Trails ‘n’ Tails, Saturday, August 15, 10am – 3pm. Leashed dogs are always welcome at the Garden, but in honor of National Dog Day the Garden throws a big party to celebrate our canine friends. Each leashed dog gets one person in for free!
