Meadow Oaks at SBBG
December 11, 2012
Over the last 20 years the Meadow Oaks section at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden lost two magnificent California coast live oak specimens and the cover they provided, dramatically changing the character and use of this focal area. On Tuesday, December 11, between 9 am and Noon, we will welcome two new, gorgeous coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia) trees, both greater than 20' tall, to replace them. Funded with support from The Santa Barbara Foundation, this important project is the first step in restoring the beloved Meadow Oaks area, considered a significant feature of the Garden's historic landscape.
