Building Bridges Fund Reaches Goal!
On behalf of myself and the Board of Trustees of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, I would like to extend my heart felt gratitude for your support of the Garden’s “Building Bridges” fundraiser to replace the Campbell Bridge. I am pleased to report we raised $80,465 towards our $80,000 community goal. We received nearly 200 gifts totaling $55,943 prior to our Building Bridges event of March 17th. This event itself raised an additional $24,522 net of expenses.
The redesign of the new bridge seeks to emulate the appearance of the historic bridge originally constructed in 1941, and we are nearly through the permitting process. Our plan is to begin construction sometime in August once bird-nesting season has passed with a ground-breaking ceremony. We will plan the Campbell Bridge ribbon-cutting ceremoy for October or November as soon as we are able to ascertain a completion date.
We are overwhelmed by the love that our community has for the Garden, indicated through our community’s generosity. We would not be able to meet our conservation mission, maintain the Garden, or provide our amazing educational programs and field trips without your support.
Thank you again on behalf of myself and the Trustees of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Steve Windhager, Ph.D.Executive Director
